The children are really enjoying discovering all about light. Earlier this week we were lucky enough to have Kristin Hobby (who is a published author and one of our many wonderful parents at Cornish) speak to us about what research is and how to research a question. She highlighted the importance of being a life long learner by constantly asking questions and then seeking the answers. Show and Share for weeks 3 and 4 will therefore focus on light. The children can share anything relating to light.
The new apps are on the blog and can now be downloaded. The free apps will be pushed out in the coming days. Many of the children have expressed a desire to have 'Bobo Explores Light' on their iPads. This is an app that we are using as a teaching tool in class. They children do not need it on their own iPad but if they would like to, then this is the link https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/bobo-explores-light/id463809859?mt=8
Please ensure that iPads are charged every night. They are being used more regularly in both the classroom and within specialist classes and as such need to be fully charged at the start of the day.
School photos will be taken on Tuesday. The children must be wearing their full winter uniform (with jumper and blazer) and the girls must wear their shirt and tie. As both classes are timetabled for Sport on a Tuesday, please pack their runners in their bags and they will change into them for sport.
Later in the term we are visiting the Melbourne Museum and the IMAX cinema. We will require 3 parent helpers from each class. If you are interested in assisting, please let us know. A letter regarding the excursion will go out in the next week or so. Please return your child's permission slip promptly to your classroom teacher.
